The 2011 Gumball 3000 began in London with over 120 super cars travelling through 8 countries in 8 days to arrive in Istanbul, driving a total of 3,000 miles. The key checkpoints and big parties along the route were London, Paris, Barcelona, Monaco, Venice, Belgrade, Sofia and of course Istanbul.
The cars taking place in this year’s Gumball 3000 included all the big names such as Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari and Lamborghini as well as a number of classic American muscle cars, Bentleys and some lowriders.
The cars were all on show at Covent Garden before the official start of the race mid-afternoon – large crowds of car lovers attended and there were also some celebrity guest appearances including David Hasselhoff and Tony Hawk.
